Another strong performance by Williamsburg Volleyball Club Teams at the Shamrock Festival. The weekend was highlighted by the WVC 14Black not dropping a single set to take Shamrock Gold. The WVC 16Black and WVC 15Black each finished T-9 in the 16s Gold Division. WVC 14Red made it into the Silver Division semi-finals and the WVC 13Black into the quarter finals of the 14s bronze division. Congratulations to everyone.
14 Black played for gold and finished in 5th place out of 54 teams. With only 2 losses for the weekend, the team was knocked out of the gold round on Monday by the tournament winner.
15 Black won the Silver pool and finished 17th out of 82 teams. With only 3 losses for the weekend, two of which took three sets, the 15 Black were kept out of the gold round by 2nd and 3rd place teams.
16 Black played for gold and finished in 5th place out of 80 teams. Their loss in the gold round was to the 3rd place team, and they only dropped one other match the whole weekend.

3. Looking at the weather forecast, there is every indication that on Friday the roads will be clear, the sun will be out and driving will be safe.
4. Since we are trying to keep you updated through our web site, please understand if we do not answer every individual email that addresses the status of the event.
Once again, we ask that you pass this information on to your families so that they too can stay informed about the event. We look forward to seeing everyone in the city later this week.

William and Mary senior and WVC 14 Red coach Lindsey Pflugner recently picked up several awards over the holidays after an outstanding 2009 campaign, none larger than becoming the Tribe's first-ever volleyball All-American. She was named by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) to the Honorable Mention List, a first in the history of the College.
Pflugner earned the accolade after leading the CAA and ranking 17th nationally with 5.26 digs per set in 2009. The CAA Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection, she totaled 552 digs this season in leading the Tribe to an 18-11 record, the second-highest total in school history, and her average is third-most ever at W&M. Despite serving as a libero for only two years, Pflugner finished her career second in both total digs (1,354) and average (3.6 per set) all-time at the College. She was also named honorable-mention All-East by the AVCA early in December.
Congratulations Coach Pflugner!
